Bentonite Clay Benefits

Bentonite clay is formed from volcanic ash and has been used for centuries to detoxify and heal the skin and body. The largest known source for bentonite clay comes from Fort Benton, Montana, hence the name Bentonite. However, the clay was actually discovered in a region in France called Montmorillon. This particular clay is composited from lush volcanic ash and is loaded with tons of minerals including calcium, sodium, copper, magnesium, potassium, and iron.

 This mineral-rich clay has the ability to absorb substances it comes in contact with. In its natural powdered state, bentonite clay has negatively charged molecules. Most toxins and impurities are positively charged; therefore, Bentonite actually becomes electrically charged when introduced to nasty toxins.  It is also anti-inflammatory, making it especially soothing on the skin. Bentonite clay is a pore-cleansing powerhouse. When activated with liquid, it acts like a magnet and a sponge, binding to and sopping up positively charged impurities (such as heavy metals, excess sebum, and bacteria). This amazing clay also provides additional cleansing and exfoliation by gently sloughing away dead skin cells and dry, flaky skin, leaving your complexion softer, smoother, and healthier. After this mineral-rich clay does its job detoxifying, it infuses skin with minerals, including calcium, magnesium, potassium, and silicon.
