True Beauty is not a look that we achieve with makeup or procedures. Being beautiful has everything to do with your heart. Regardless of age, when you are truly beautiful on the inside it shows in your face, your eyes and your character. True beauty is created from a place of self-acceptance, selflessness and kindness. It radiates from your heart, and transforms into a positive, beautiful force that draws others to you.
As women, we spend far too much time in front of a mirror, staring and scrutinizing, worrying and wishing. Telling ourselves that if I just change that ____ about the way I look, I will be happy, and then I will like myself more. The greatest lie we will ever tell ourselves is that to become beautiful we have to fix something on the outside. Whether it’s a gray hair, a wrinkle, chubby cheeks, a pimple, or a crooked smile we sometimes get so fixated on our flaws that we create this vicious cycle of self-loathing. This is a place of resentment, bitterness, stress, and anger… it is where ugliness dwells. We are truly unhappy and sad when we choose to dwell in this place, and this too will radiate from our hearts, and show in our face, and eyes, and our character. Self-loathing is destructive to the soul.
Embrace your flaws, and don’t allow them to undermine your self-worth, because they will rob you of the many blessing’s life has to offer. You are beautiful at this weight, and you are beautiful with those wrinkles! The things that you consider your “flaws” are what make you, YOU, beautifully and wonderfully made. Your True Beauty lies in your strengths and abilities, your accomplishments against adversity, and the many things that you have overcome and survived! When we accept who we are, wherever we are at…our beauty shines through.
